NJCAA DII National Championships

Blue Angels at Nationals

The 2024 NJCAA DII Cross Country Championships. Forty one full teams from all over the United States, 315 runners. One thousand six hundred miles in a bus over four days, what a trip. The course was dry and dusty, the start was pure survial, the first turn was a stay tough moment. The Blue Angels finished 35th as a team and just like that Raelyn Dearing and Simone Liefer's Kaskaskia College running career were complete. Kyndall Sturgeon finished the season as she started, racing hard, but just to add to the effort, she was stepped on during the start and ran most of the race with one shoe. Dearing was the next to cross for the Blue Angels, followed by Ryann Becker, who had her best race of the season. Ivy Donoho was the fourth counter for KC with another solid race. Reagan Cross was the fifth counter with Liefer right behind her and Aubrey Fernandez was the final Angel to to finish the 5K plus course. The 1-3 pack tiime was a solid 1 minute 18 seconds, with Sturgeon, Dearing, and Becker, with Donoho adding a miinute to that. The Blue Angels had a very good season and kept working to get better and to wear the "blue" of Kaskaskia College with pride.
