Blue Angels Race at 9th Annual UIS Prairie Stars Invitational

Springfield Angels

Thirteen different colleges lined up to race the 5K designated course on the beautiful campus of the Unversity of Illinois Springfield. The Blue Angels were short two runners, but still had five to get a team score, as a team they placed 10th. The team was led by freshman Kyndall Sturgeon, the former Patoka Warrior, she crossed the line in a personal best of 22:12. Bouncing back from a tough first race was another freshman Ryann Becker in the time of 22:59, followed by Raelyn Dearing in a time of 23:13. "These were solid efforts, coming  after a tougher than normal workout on Thursday. KS was tough racing out there and RB had something to prove, Rae was battling some leg discomfort, but fought through it, she is as tough as nails. " Ivy Donoho had a very good race, as her times keep descending." Aubrey Fernandez was the fifth counter and made a big improvement from her first race. Simone Liefer was not able to finish the race, due to a leg issue.
