What difference a week can make in mid October. After battling the heat and humidity of meet last Friday, the temperatures dropped as did the rain at Hillsoboro Country Club. The KC men just keep improving. For the second week in a row most of the Blue Devils cross the finish line with personal best for the 8K distance. Ty Reynolds continues to run a smart race and was able to drop his time into the 27 minute range, picking up a 19th place finish in 27:50. Alex Detmer continues to race well and was 31st in a time of 28:55. The team goal was to drop the team average below 30 minutes, the top 2 had been doing thier part, now it was up to the rest of the KC men to step into the faster waters. Sam Britt was able to do just that, with a personal best time of 29:52, 8 seconds later was teammate and pogo sticker champion Caleb Klein in 30:00. Klein was was excited and disappointed, the difference between being sub 30 was basically which shoe had the timing chip! Kolton Shoemaker, stepped up big coming in with a time of 30 minutes and 26 seconds, a huge improvement from prior races. Andrew Stevenson was the 5th counter for the Devils of Blue in a pb time of 30:55 and right behind Andrew was Ryan Gerdes in a time of 30:59. A 68 second pack time for 3 through 6, a big improvement. Alex Huegen turn in a near personal best time of 33 minutes and 47 seconds. "The Blue Devils have been talking team goals and personal goals and they certaining stepped up and met the goals, the average team time was 29 minutes and 25 seconds and almost everyone had persoanl best. The course is flat and fast and there was a lot of good racers there, which helps with the times, but the terrian was also very wet. This was a great team effort after a good solid week of work." Believe in the system, believe in yourself and the race will be yours.
