The Blue Angels and the Blue Devils kick off the 2021 season at the Walt Crawford Invitational on the campus of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. Coming off the most successful season in the programs' history  the Blue Angles and Devils are ready to pick up where they left off. The Blue Angels coming off an impressive 9th placed finish at the 2020 NJCAA D2 Championships,  will be lead by All American Summer Chelf, who is returning for her second season in the Blue of KC. The other returnees include Macie Hargis and Mya Albers both coming off solid freshmen seasons. The strong freshmen class includes Megan Cook, Cayla Krueger, and Maggie Fitzgerald, and Jamesyn Lyons. All four were number one runners on their high school teams. The Blue Devils coming off a 2020 14th place finish at the Nationals will be lead by returnees Alex Detmer, Ty Reynolds, Andrew Stevenson, and Alex Huegen. The freshmen quartet of Ryan Gerdes, Caleb Klein, Kolton Shoemaker, and Sam Britt will be challenging for the top spots. The 5K race starts for the Blue Angels at 3:45 and the 8K race starts for the mean at 4:30.
