Coach Jermarco Burse Jr. serves as the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Kaskaskia College, bringing energy, leadership, and a strong commitment to player development both on and off the court. With a background in competitive basketball experience at the JUCO level (Southeastern Illinois College), Division 2 level (Truman State University) and NAIA level (Harris-Stowe State University) Coach Burse brings knowledge and years of learning basketball at some of the highest levels. Coach Burse plays a key role in recruiting, practice planning, and mentoring student-athletes.

Coach Burse is originally from Annapolis, MO where he attended South Iron High School. Burse was a part of a powerhouse basketball team at South Iron and won a State Title his senior year in 2021. After his senior year Burse signed to play JUCO basketball at Southeastern Illinois College in Harrisburg, IL (2021-2023). Burse started both years at Southeastern and his Sophomore season averaged 13 points per game, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. After two years at Southeastern, Burse committed to Division 2 Truman State University in Kirksville, MO.

After one year at Truman (2023-2024), Burse searched for a new home and transferred to NAIA Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis, MO (2024-2025). For his senior season at the collegiate level Burse had a successful season being awarded Newcomer of the Year at the end of the season at Harris-Stowe State.

Coach Burse has obtained an Associate’s Degree from Southeastern Illinois College, and recently obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from Harris-Stowe State University. His future plan will be to obtain a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration.
