Scott Jones transferred to Kaskaskia College in the Fall of
1973 from the University of Missouri. Scott was a
member of the basketball and baseball programs at Kaskaskia College
and led in the highest batting average as a sophomore.
Scott transferred to Eastern Illinois University, earned his
degree in Political Science and then received a law degree from
Southern Illinois University - Carbondale. He served as
a member of the Kaskaskia College Adjunct Faculty in Criminal
Justice.
Scott was active in education and in the community, promoting
athletics and the ideas of good sportsmanship as a high school
basketball referee for over thirty years. Scott officiated
three Illinois High School State Tournament finals games, served as
a Great Rivers Athletic Conference Assigner for eight years, served
on the Illinois High School Athletics Rules and Interpretations
Committee for over twenty years and received a twenty-five year
award for his selfless dedication and service.
Scott served as an adjunct faculty member for the Kaskaskia
College Criminal Justice program and is a Centralia High School
Hall of Fame and a Centralia Sports Hall of Fame honoree.
Scott was inducted posthumously into the Kaskaskia College Athletic
Hall of Fame.
